The Battle Log is the place where reports from each of the Operation 513 evangelism teams are posted.

It gives you a brief idea about what occurred during the outreach and some of the highlights.

Even though there is not a report from each team on the Battle Log every week, all these teams do meet according to the schedule (usually weekly).

So please keep them in prayer and consider joining one if it is in your area.

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday January 7, 2026 from 1030-1130

This was the first day of Street Outreach that was resumed at Sunnybank Plaza Public Bus stop. Both Edwin and Johnny was occupied with their church home group ministry, so Hung was doing solo on this first new year opening outreach ministry. Since I had to catch up with another Street outreach organized by Limei of BOL, I did a shorter hours at Sunnybank but still was able to have a good chat with a senior local Aussie of French origin. He was of Catholic background but he on the one hand got the 2nd question right knowing that it is sola Christ and by grace through faith in Jesus sufficient and effective redemptive work dying on the cross to take our place to receive the wrath of God on our sin. But for the first Question, he was still confused by the fact that we are not yet perfect despise we already received Christ thus he has no assurance of salvation by 100%. It was because he lacks the understanding that God's salvation plan to deliver us is in three fold or by three stage i.e. the past, the present and the future. Past referring to the occasion of conversion to receive Christ which is an event. It set us free from the effect of sin rendering sinner all having been disqualified from the Citizenship of the Heavenly Kingdom but by His redemptive grace, our sin are pardons and set to zero as such our long lost heavenly citizenship can immediately be restored and that we all have reconciled with God even before our life substance is transformed back to perfect. This belongs to the 2nd stage of God's present grace of Sanctification that is to be carrying out over a period of time or throughout our life journey. The future grace is even our body will be changed back to the original glorious status that will live for ever without death or sickness. I anyway thank God for guiding me to have such extensive and comprehensive sharing with a Catholic background Christian who is humble enough to allow the light if truth be shed on him.

I anyway caught the bus 140 at 1200 to go to the CBD to meet the next outreach ministry organized by BOL at around 1300-1400.

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Toowong on Tuesday Jan 6, 2026 from 1030-1200.

Today Johnny and Hung teamed up at Toowong to start a new year of street outreach in 2026. Although it is still term break time with not many UQ students attending class, we both were given enough divine appointments to share the gospel to peopel of all Nations. Hung in particular was eld to have chat to mainly Indian to day. One was even an old target who still remember my face and what I shares. Today , I just reinforce on the need that all human who admit no one is perfect then it is established that every one is disqualified from regaining heavenly citizenship unless with the help of Jesus. In general all people of other religions showed openness and receptiveness to the gospel message.

Happy New Year!  This report is for December 2025

Two things that stood out to me for December:

1) Christmas tracts are popular!  I reckon I gave away 10 Christmas tracts when I would normally give away 1.  I had this funny situation where a lady came round the corner.  I was holding out a tract, and she raised her hand to refuse it.  But before she did I said “Merry Christmas”, instantly she lowered her hand to receive it instead of rejecting it.  There is just something about Christmas!

2) Boxing day is still a great day for giving away tracts.  Martin joined me again this year, and we spent 2 hours at Riccarton and 2 hours in the city.  I think I gave away 4 or 5 hundred Christmas tracts in that time.

Oh well, the Christmas tracts have been put away for another year.

After a short holiday, I got back to the streets yesterday.  I spent an hour in Riccarton.  I was on my own, so I decided to take my flip chart along.

Before I had even finished setting it up, I was into my first chat with a group of youths (5 of them).  This chat spoke volumes to me about the power and the simplicity of the law and the gospel.  As I was taking these kids through the law, I had multiple reactions: silliness, denial (“I’ve never lied”), but also, disengagement.  That sounds like a bad thing, but in this case, it was very good.  The young lady was really seeing her personal sin, and that’s the goal of the law!  Sadly, rather than humbling herself to accept the gospel, she hardened her heart by disengaging.  She even walked away from her group and stood to the side while I engaged the others.  As she was leaving, I did say, “hey, I’ve got good news coming”.  But at this stage, she wasn’t interested.  But God can use that, and in his timing he can bring others to bring the gospel seed.  May her heart become ready to receive it!

I continued my presentation, but just as I was getting to the gospel, I had 2 more of the kids ditch me.  The 3 that had left walked off, hoping the last 2 with me would leave too.  But they didn’t.  I got to share the gospel with them.  It turns out they went to a Catholic school, and so I instantly went back to my explanation of the ‘false ways’ to contrast what I was teaching with what they had heard in school.  Slowly I saw a light coming across their expressions as the gospel started to really register in their thinking.  It was so good.  But, I had to leave it at that, they wanted to catch up with their friends, and so I let them go with tracts.

It was a busy hour of outreach.  Plenty of young people were out & about, bored and with nothing to do.  Two guys went past who had talked to me before in the city (I didn’t really remember them).  I was able to reiterate the law with them (I focused on that, because it obviously hadn’t registered in their thinking the first time) and then touch on the gospel.  They also took tracts.

One of my regulars passed.  He is an older guy (74 I think he said).  He is happy to chat, but he is completely blind to the gospel.  What I find fascinating is that, in his retirement, he jumps on city buses and spends his days travelling from place to place, for no particular reason.  He obviously enjoys life, as simple as it is, but he is completely oblivious to the reality of death and judgement.  I decided to ask him about this again (nowadays I usually just chat about the weather with him) and he said he guesses he’ll go to heaven.  And he even mentioned that he and the missus go to church every week (it’s a good local church – he sings the songs and listens to the ‘talk’).  And yet, he has no idea why someone would go to heaven or not and is not interested in talking about it at all.  There is nothing much more I can do than pray, and ask God to soften his heart and remove the scales from his eyes so he can really see his sin for what it is: wretched; and the amazing grace of Jesus to pay for it!  God have mercy!

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday Dec 17, 2025 from 1030-1130

Hurrah, for a long time, Johnny , Edwin and Hung teamed up again at Sunnybank. With the quick feet of Edwin, he as well as the team of three had covered almost every one turning up at the Bus Stop. Either we got a chat or a reject in polite or rude way. No one person was omitted for a divine approach.

Johnny and Hung tended to have longer chat with the elected person. For instance, Johnny had a long chat with a Filipino Catholic lady who is full of those traditional Catholic teaching. Johnny took the trouble to look up pictures and post to reveal the true color of the deep state related Roman Catholic regime.

Hung have a couple of special divine appointment to minister to a few least ones of the disadvantaged people group. First ,Hung spotted a skinny man sat on the ground and hid behind the garbage box. He is and indigenous Malay who has just lost his job with some shop at Sunny Park. His English is not very good, but God moved me to tender to his need and have a long chat caring first his well being and at the end sharing the full gospel to him and convey a mindset that true peace and joy can only be restored through reconnecting with the agape love of God through Jesus of Savior. He lives in EMP, so I encourage him to attend the EMP Methodist Church.

Another divine encounter was with a guy from China who has been in Brisbane Australia for 20 odd years yet still struggling to settle down to lead a self sufficient life. He was switching bus to connect to Garden City with all his belongings on a luggage trolleys but fell off in a mess when he got out from the bus. I did have time and the move to share him immediately the gospel but lend a helping hand to get all the fallen apart stuff be strapped securely to his luggage trolley. Before the connecting bus came, I simply render my concern for his well being and helped him to bring the heavy load of luggage on to the bus. I was moved to leave two tracts one in English and other in Chinese and strongly believe Gid will do the rest for him to read them afterwards.

All in all, it was again glorious day of outreach with blessing fully bestowed to both the gospel targets and to us the gospel warriors.

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Toowong on Tuesday Dec 16, 2025 from 1030-1200.

Today teamed up with Johnny again at Toowong reaching many people of different nations Christian and non-Christians inclusive.

In general, majority were friendly open and receptive to the Gospel. Those who are Christians from either Catholic country like France and Protestant like Germany, and other local one, without exception, they all are lacking of assurance of salvation that needed to be clarified.

As for non-believers, there was a couple with the boy from UK but of Carrabin origin and the girl from Italy. They showed initial no interest, but the Spirit moved me to keep sharing with them with the full gospel. I was glad to noticed that after our conversation, both of them took long time to read the tract.

So again ,we as the vessel of God will keep doing our part to share the Gospel to the elected ones as moved and guided by God for us to approach and leave the result at His hand.

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday Dec 10, 2025 from 1030-1130

Today it was still Edwin and Hung teaming up to do street outreach at Sunnybank. As usual, Edwin reached great number of people with his quick move to connect with people indiscriminatively. Hung on the other hand tends to hang on for longer chat. Today, Hung was led to connect with Christians who have varying degree of assurance of salvation. Rejections were also part of the fact of life on mission with God. It is more so good training to build steadfast faith and perseverance irrespective of reaction.

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Toowong on Tuesday Dec 9, 2025 from 1030-1200.

Today , Johnny and Hung teamed up to do our regular weekly outreach. Johnny had many conversations with people of all nations. I used to do photo shooting for him but today, God led me to reach out to only 2 Mainland Chinese. The former one was a lady and she basically was friendly enough to allow me sharing the full gospel with a certain interaction on her feedback on the message. The bus cut short our conversation anyway. Yet the second persons was apparently a divine appointment that God had made for me to have a full gospel sharing plus extensive personal witnessing of my faith journey and how faith has changed my life up side down.

It was a record long time as he was moved to forget about his bus but stay as long as I could afford to learn things big and small happened in my life after conversion. He is a PHD candidate on AI from Xu Zhou of Suzhou. Despite of his science background,he showed great wisdom to discuss faith without the pre-requisite of passing scientific test. So instead of asking me to prove the existence of God, he rather was interested in seeing and feeling God through my own life witnesses. Pray that his time will come very soon to accept Jesus first and let God work in his life.

Sunday 7 December 2025

It’s been 7 years since I started getting supported by Operation 513 in evangelism.  It’s been hard work, but it’s been wonderful work.  Those first couple of years were tough - pure street work.  Now I have the ability to work online too, which brings some balance.  And also, in the early days, we spent 2 years bringing the gospel to the issue of abortion outside Christchurch Hospital on Friday mornings.  That attracted a lot of hate and tension, and I really struggled with it, yet I don’t regret it.  Sin is serious; God’s grace is amazing.

I’m so aware of how feeble my efforts have been.  I’m trusting that God has and will continue to show his strength through my weakness.  Who knows what the future will bring.  God knows.  And I’m trusting he will guide my path.  I’m holding everything lightly in my hands; may His kingdom come and His will be done.

If it be his will, I want to continue what I’m doing till I’m 96, pushing my walking frame down Colombo Street to the corner of Cashel Street, and telling the young people about Jesus.  (He is worthy!  Right?)  “Excuse me young man, can I ask you a question?  What do you think happens after life?”  But if it be His will that I do something else, so be it.  Even better, may Jesus return today!

So, what happened in the month of November?  We had a special outreach!  The 3 day Canterbury A&P Show Outreach.  It was great having Mike Ryan sorting the organisation this year - really appreciated that bro!  We had a solid team working shifts running a site where we set up our gazebo, a table with tracts and Bibles, and gospel flipcharts.  We were right across from the carnival this year.

The weather wasn’t so good on the first day, and yet, I still had some very special gospel chats.  I can still clearly see the face of one young lady, who believed in God but thought she was good enough for heaven.  Her face beamed as the logic of the gospel clicked in her thinking, in light of the law showing her her sin.

The weather was great on the 2nd day, which was the busiest day anyway.  The morning and early afternoon of the 3rd day was great too, but then an intense  thunder / hail storm hit.  It killed the rest of the afternoon, as everyone left, running for their cars.  We were huddling under our gazebo, when a kid ducked in for cover too.  He was right in front of me, and so I asked, “hey man, can I ask, what do you think happens after life?”.  “Nothing”.  “So, you don’t believe in God?”  “No”.  “But, if I told you the ferries wheel made itself would you believe me?”  “No”.  “Right, so, wouldn’t this universe have to have a maker too?”.  He stared at me and then he bolted.  Haha, he’d rather face the storm than stay in shelter with me talking about the true God of justice  he knows exists!

Of course, all the other usual street and online outreaches have been happening.  I’m going to have to let the pictures do the talking.

Thank you to all those who have actually read these reports over the years.  I hope they have been an encouragement to you for the evangelism opportunities in your own life.  May we all continue to grow in this.  Also, thank you for the financial and prayer support that you have been making to enable me to do this.  I’m looking forward to us being able to cast our crowns at the feet of Jesus.  Only He is worthy.  All glory to God alone!

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Toowong on Tuesday Sec 2, 2025 from 1030-1200

Rejoice to have Johnny coming back from Taiwan to team up with me at Toowong. We were led by the Spirit to connect with the elected persons for a divine conversation chat. In general, the overall result was good with only small ratio of unsuccessful approach. For me I chatted for a longer time with with Catholic Christian from a cross breed family of NZ & PNG. A Lady from Sudan, and a local Aussie man that earned me a selfie with them.

Johnny had also got many long gospel sharing conversation even with Mainlander Chinese. It is all the Gospel power of God that prepared their heart for the gospel message.
